The mission of Amici dell’Arte, Inc (Friends of the Arts) is to promote South Florida artists and to perpetuate the arts in South Florida by providing affordable and quality performances for our audiences; creating education, performance and networking opportunities for our artists;  and through partnerships with other South Florida companies and organizations.

Amici dell’Arte is operated and governed by South Florida artists, for South Florida artists, since 1998, and is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), tax-exempt public charity organization since 2002.

Amici dell’Arte has organized concerts and recitals in partnership with local organizations throughout the South Florida community since 1998, beginning with “Classical Relief” (A Benefit Concert for the Survivors of Hurricane Mitch).  Since 1998, Amici dell’Arte has organized additional “Classical Relief concerts for Hurricane relief, raising funds for Neighbors for Neighbors and the American Red Cross.  In 2010, “Voices for Haiti:  A Benefit Concert” was produced for the benefit of Haiti through the American Red Cross International Fund.

Amici dell’Arte has co-presented various productions including:  ”Shakespeare Goes to the Opera” (Sept 2010) in collaboration with Shakespeare Miami and Hispanic-American Lyric Theatre; “Menage A Tenor” (June 2010) with Barry University, Riunite Opera and Hispanic-American Lyric Theatre; “Lyric Scenes” (May 2010) with Florida Chamber Orchestra and Hispanic-American Lyric Theatre; and “A Lyric Sunday Afternoon” (various dates in 2009 and 2010) with Circulo Lirico de la Opera and Hispanic-American Lyric Theatre; the Bernstein arrangement of Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater” (Feb 2003) in collaboration with the artistic foundation of San Juan Bosco Catholic Church; Passione (2001); and 2 full operas (Delibes’ Lakme in 2005 and Donizetti’s L’elisir d’Amore in 2002), double-cast and performed in locations throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties.

Several featured artists from Amici dell’Arte productions and collaborations have since gone on to sing at the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, La Scala and in/with many other prestigious opera houses, concert halls and orchestras throughout the world.  Upcoming productions are to include:  “Mozart Mayhem”, “An American Songbook”, and “Virgins, Vixens and Valkyries”.
